Yes, it has been quite sometimes since I've updated this blog @_@! But here is a great news I would like to share with you! This past weekend, our designs were picked as the winner for FWLV (Fashion Week Las Vegas) in the Red Carpet Category!! :D
It all started back in June when I found out about the competition. FWLV was holding a competition for Emerging Designers where we are to submit photos or sketches showing our Spring/Summer 2013 or Fall/Winter 2013 Collection. Since I have started to create and get involved in Bridalwear, and am planning to show a Bridal Collection starting Spring/Summer 2013 Collection, I submitted sketches for 2 categories, a Bridal and a Red Carpet.
On July 6th, FWLV announced the Semi-Finalist and our designs got picked for both categories. From then, we were to create 3 pcs out of the submitted Collection to be shown to live judges in Las Vegas on August 18.
For a month, I was busy making 6 pcs of dresses, 3 for Bridal and 3 for Red Carpet. One of the dresses involved hand beading! It took me approximately 170 hours to hand beaded the dress @_@. It was a tiring yet exciting one month of my life!
I kept telling myself that hardwork pays off and it DID! On August 18th, I went to Las Vegas to show off my 6 pcs of dresses. The day started slow but once everything is set and the judging time has started, things were started to get fun! The three judges that night were Gus Castaneda (a Fashion Director), Frederic Charpentier (a Fashion Photographer) and Rory Castillo (a Fashion Designer). It was exciting to be picked as one of the winner but what is more exciting is to have those moment to meet a lot of wonderful people!

What a commendable work you have done, with simplest of language. I can’t resist myself to leave a comment and trust me it’s hard to impress me.
